Hotel de Rougemont: A Harmonious Blend of Tradition and Luxury

Blending Swiss chalet style with contemporary elegance

The Hotel de Rougemont, designed by Claudia Sigismondi & Andrea Proto, is a stunning example of how tradition and modernity can coexist harmoniously. Inspired by the surrounding nature and local architecture, this boutique hotel in Gstaad, Switzerland, offers a unique experience that combines timeless elegance with modern luxury.

The interior design of the Hotel de Rougemont strikes a perfect balance between the traditional Swiss chalet style and the glamorous appeal of Gstaad. The designers have seamlessly blended local materials and traditional craftsmanship with innovative design solutions and creative decor. The result is a style that exudes both authenticity and sophistication.

The walls of the hotel are coated with reclaimed lumber from local dismantled farmhouses, giving them a rustic yet contemporary feel. Rough-textured wall finishes and stone surfaces break the uniformity of wood and relate to the rough surfaces of the mountains. Glass mirrored surfaces add lightness and transparency, creating a connection between the interior space and the surrounding landscape.

The Hotel de Rougemont offers a range of luxurious amenities, including 12 Standard rooms, 13 Suites, 8 Junior suites, a Hall, Lounge bar, Restaurant, Wineroom, Cigar lounge, Boutique, Spa, Conference Rooms, and a Brainstorming room. Each room has been carefully designed to maximize the sense of space and uniqueness, ensuring that guests feel a deep sense of harmony and well-being.

One of the main challenges faced by the designers was the limited height of the existing hotel rooms. However, they overcame this obstacle by customizing each room's interior layout, creating a sense of space and uniqueness. The result is a collection of rooms that offer a truly personalized experience for each guest.

The Hotel de Rougemont has received numerous accolades for its exceptional design. In 2015, it was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award recognizes the hotel's outstanding design, which combines creativity, resourcefulness, and a commitment to improving the quality of life for its guests.

With its seamless blend of tradition and luxury, the Hotel de Rougemont is a testament to the power of design to create a truly exceptional experience. Whether you're seeking a regenerating holiday in the mountains or a taste of Alpine hospitality, this boutique hotel offers a unique and unforgettable stay.
